Sustainable feeding

The basic idea behind Spillfree is making the seafood industry more sustainable, both environmentally and economically. In order to reach that goal we work closely with our clients to help them feed their fish in the best possible way, making their feeding more efficient and lowering the amount of feed outside of their pens.

This results in:

Improved feed utilisation
Lower overall climate impact for the aquaculture industry
Less feed waste and better environment in the surrounding sea
Healthier and better growing fish in a cleaner environment

How do we improve sustainability?

Good feed utilisation is a prerequisite for sustainable aquaculture. Spillfree offers solutions that contribute to efficient feeding and operations, enabling our clients to meet increased expectations and changing regulations for sustainable aquaculture.

In Spillfree we analyse the behaviour of the fish, helping our clients to feed better and more efficiently. This results in the best possible growth for the fish and good production conditions for the industry, all while avoiding overfeeding and ocean pollution. Feed production is energy and area intensive, and reduced waste contributes to a more sustainable natural resource management.

In Spillfree we want to contribute to securing decent working conditions for everyone in our value chain, regardless of gender, ethnicity and age. We want to attract and retain employees and facilitate a corporate culture where learning and development are important.

We develop tools that ease the workday of fish farmers and work towards professionalising the feeding operator job with courses, close guidance and seminars. This results in skilled employees, sustainable economy and good resource utilisation for our clients.
